NHRA Spring Nationals at Royal Purple Raceway Sportsman Results

Baytown, TX - 2017 Lucas Oil Super Comp World Champion Austin Williams, Burleson, Texas, continued his title defence against Texas racer Rutland of Spring. Rutland scored his first national event Wally running 8.901 seconds, 180.07 mph, outlasting his foe. Williams runner upped at 8.902 seconds, 156.99 mph

Baytown, TX - Alan Savage, Mexia, Texas, and Britt Cummings, Hammond, La., collided in the final round of Super Comp. Savage took the better light, taking home the national event Wally trophy, running 8.888, 182.01. Cummings finished at 8.876, 166.23.

Baytown, TX - In Comp Eliminator, veteran racer David Rampy of Piedmont, Al., collected his 91st overall career win, with 73 having been earned in the Comp Eliminator racing class. Rampy faced off against Dick Maris, Montgomery, Texas, and posted a winning run of 7.344 seconds, 164.69 mph in his ’32 Bantam.

Baytown, TX - Austin Williams, Burleson, Texas, picked up his first win in Super Comp and his 6th overall running 8.928 seconds at 167.72 mph to defeat the quicker Brandon Mouton, Lake Charles, La. Williams was better off the line with a .012 second reaction time the proved to be the difference.
