Both drivers left the starting line with identical .019 reaction times and Martinus turned on the win light after Hagar broke out by .002 running 6.348 (6.35 dial in). The no box final was set between Schiele and Martinus. This matchup was a big one as the winner would be able to advance to round 6 of the Fifty. Both cars left the starting line and Martinus held a significant starting line reaction time advantage (.023 to .073). Martinus would win the final with his 6.090 (6.06 dial in). Schiele would be the no box runner up with his 6.686 (6.68 dial in).
With the $50k main event down to 10 cars in round number 7, Tim Slone from Tennessee was matched up with Michigan’s Brett McKay. Martinus no box car would be going to the ladder round. The next pair matched up the dragsters of Fowlerville, Michigan’s Bob Payton and Gallatin, Tennessee racer Scott Lemen. Payton left with a .007 reaction time to Lemen’s .022 but would go under his 4.49 dial in (4.484) giving Lemen a ticket to the ladder round running 4.451 (4.44 dial in). The final pair of round seven paired up the two procharger dragsters of Indiana’s Chris Stine and Ohio chassis builder Dan Davies. Stine would easily advance to the ladder round as Davies was experiencing mechanical problems and red lighted away his chances at the 50k.
Five drivers from four different states were represented in the quarter final round. The first pair saw the S10 truck of Mikey Bloomfield matched up with the Drag Race Solutions Dragster of Scott Lemen. When both drivers left the starting line it was Bloomfield with the advantage (.003 to .035) and then running 6.393 (6.37 dial in) to Lemen’s 4.440 (4.43 dial in). Stine left the starting line near perfect .001 to Martinus .031 and then would run 4.089 (4.06 dial in). Martinus was dead on 6.047 (6.04 dial in) but was beat on reaction time. The earned bye run went to Brett McKay with his truck and he advanced to the semi final round.
With a semi final round bye run Chris Stine would be advancing to the final attempting to win his second OG50K title. The only matchup in the semi finals paired up Brett McKay and Mikey Bloomfield Jr. Bloomfield left the starting line with a reaction time advantage (.012 to .025) and would take .018 finish lime to run 6.402 (6.39 dial in).
