Brad Plourd grabbed NHRA national event win number 18 while Greg Trew scored his first at the delayed Pep Boys NHRA Carolina Nationals that were completed this weekend at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Auto Plus Raceway in Gainesville, Fla.

Plourd’s win was actually his first in Super Gas to go along with his wins in Stock, Super Stock and Super Comp as he met up with former Lucas Oil Super Comp National Champion Al Kenny.  Kenny ran too quick with Plourd taking the win in 9.9812 seconds at 146.99 mph.

Trew used a holeshot starting line advantage to hold off T.J. Tindle as a pair of dragsters faced off in the Super Comp final. Trew as 0.019 seconds at the light and ran 8.931, 166.39 for the win by just 0.0010 seconds as Tindle crossed the finish line in 8.924, 162.61.

In Super Stock it was Bryan Worner and his Camaro defeating Joel Warren who fouled at the start with Worner running it out to a 10.235, 101.94 second lap for this 4th national event win.

Drew Skillman took home his 6th national event trophy and the win in Stock Eliminator but had to earn it as Jeff Hairrington was perfect off the start with a 0.000 second reaction time.  Skillman went 9.060 on his 9.05 index while Hairrington ran too quick and broke out by 0.014 seconds.

Super Stock

Bryan Worner, Camaro, 10.235, 101.94  def. Joel Warren, Firebird, foul.

Stock Eliminator

Drew Skillman, Mustang, 9.060, 144.01  def. Jeff Hairrington, Mustang, 10.506, 127.19.

Super Comp

Greg Trew, Dragster, 8.931, 166.39  def. T.J. Tindle, Dragster, 8.924, 162.61.

Super Gas

Brad Plourd, Corvette, 9.912, 146.99  def. Alan Kenny, Corvette, 9.896, 152.69
