Ultimate 64 Shootout Celebrates 9 years This Weekend
6/2/2014
Clay City, KY
On June 6-8 Mountain Park Dragway in Clay City, KY will play host to the 9th annual Ultimate 64 Shootout presented by the Fraternal Order of Orioles, Nest 263 (Franklin, OH). While the Ultimate 64 is known for its full schedule of bracket action, annually featuring over a half-dozen individual big buck bracket events within its three days of on-track competition, the Ultimate 64 is best recognized for its title event: the Estes Oil Company Ultimate 64 $50,000 Shootout. In that unique shootout 64 elite competitors will vie for the $50,000 top prize and their spot in history, as each entrant aims to join the exclusive club of Ultimate 64 winners which includes Steve Royalty, Rob Kropfeld, John Cook, Jr., Jason Lynch, Brian Newport, Wes May, Gary May and Jason Claytor.
The action will kick off Friday, June 6 with the first of three SRS Ultimate 10’s. The SRS Ultimate 10’s are open to all competitors and are the only events of the weekend that are not pre-entry, set field races. These races pay $10,000 to the winner each day and feature $50 round money starting with third round winners. The SRS Ultimate 10’s entry fee is $350 for the weekend or $150 per day. In addition to Friday’s Ultimate 10, the opening day will also include the RacingRVs.com 64 Hi-Roller. The 64 Hi-Roller will feature a 64-car pre-entered field ($300 entry) with a winner’s purse of $8,000!
Saturday at the Ultimate 64 will include the second of three SRS Ultimate 10’s, and of course the feature event of the weekend: The Estes Oil Company Ultimate 64 $50,000 Shootout.
Sunday the event will conclude with the final SRS Ultimate 10 event in addition to a pair of 32-car shootouts. The Kentwood Mortgage, Inc. 32 Dragster Shootout features a $5,000 winner’s purse for a $250 entry fee. Likewise, the Williams Paving 32 Door Car Shootout showcases the same purse, but is limited to the first 32 door car entrants.
In addition to the on-track competition, the Ultimate 64 Shootout has earned a reputation built largely upon fun and camaraderie. The 2014 edition will be no different. The party begins Thursday with the annual golf outing, followed by a Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament at the race track and the annual racer’s appreciation party.
There are currently spots available in every special event: The Estes Oil Company Ultimate 64 $50,000 Shootout, the RacingRVs.com 64 Hi-Roller, the Kentwood Mortgage Inc. 32 Dragster Shootout, and the Williams Paving 32 Door Car Shootout, but spots are selling quickly.
