(Owingsville KY) The BTE/Citgo Series Kentucky Bracket Nationals presented by Afco was again bothered all weekend by mother nature.  Rain fell off and on all day Saturday.  Promoters Chris Barker and Danny Sons were determined to run the race for the racers that braved out the bad forecast and showed their support for the series.
When it was all said and done 14 hours later a new leader in the Race Tech Championship Points was determined.   Scotty Richardson survived a tough field of cars for the win.

Richardson defeated Beth Ann Atkinson from Stanton Kentucky in her Race Tech Dragster for the $5000 pay day.  In the final Beth Ann ran dead on her 4.99 dial but missed the tree giving the win to Richardson who was .512 on the tree with a 5.067 on a 5.02 for the win.  The lone semi finalist was Ken Sullivan from West Carrolton Ohio.  The win put Scotty in the Race Tech Afco Championship Points lead passing his brother Edmond Richardson and JJ Endicott who were tied going into the event.
In Dynatech Sportsman Andy Hensley outlasted a who's who field of cars for the $1000 win defeating the always tough Anthony Blackburn from Paris Kentucky.  In the final Blackburn ran dead on but also missed the tree.

In Jegs Trophy it was the "Combs Gang"  again.  This time J.C. Combs took the win and 4 foot giant trophy defeating Joe Wright from Jeffersonville, Kentucky.
In Race Tech Jr Dragster Josh Reed defeated Gregory Ison running a 7.976 on a 7.94 for the win.
In the Barker Trailer Sales / Pace American Run For The Trailer Carroll Click from Sevierville Tennessee ran 4.661 on a 4.66 for the cash and first round bye in Afco S/Pro.
In Dynatech Sportsman it was Timmy Roe's 68 Chevy II running 6.703 on a 6.70 for the cash, championship point and first round bye.
Jerry Marcum the current nationwide points leader in Race Tech Jr Dragster won the Jr Dragster version running 9.856 on a 9.84.
