Southern Survival / Tenn Tuck

Locals Survive Survival
05/12/03
Nashville / Joelton, TN - The first Southern Survival of the year was dominated by local standouts this past weekend. Locals Scotty Allen, Philip Chester, Leon Robertson and Tracy Sons were among the many middle Tennessee drivers to take home money.

Friday action saw Scotty Allen from Nashville take out Portland's Kelt Louden when Louden turned on the redlight in the 03 Nelson dragster. In footbrake it was David Lynch Jr defeating Jeff Chelton for the $1000 payday.

Saturday it was a all Clarksville Tennessee final as Phillip Chester defeated Todd Senseney for the $10,000 Music City Paycheck. The semi finalist was Jesse Rogers from Lebanon Tennessee. Footbrake paid $2000 to win Saturday night and who else but "NEON" Leon Robertson to take home the money. Robertson defeated rising footbrake star Darel Parrish Jr out of the DRR stables for the tough victory.

Sunday saw veteran bracket racer Jerry Webster from Mt Juliet Tennessee take home $5000 from Jantzen Melton from Gleason. Melton defeated Tracy Sons in the semi to make the final round appearance against Webster. In footbrake Tracy Sons returned (driving Jeff Chelton's Monte Carlo) to the box to make a final round run against the RED HOT David Lynch Jr of the "LYNCH MOB" This time the Chelton Monte Carlo would not be denied as Sons took the victory the $1000 paycheck.

Other notes of the weekend. Monte Short in the PerfectRun.com dragster made a perfect run Saturday and took $1000 of Rick and Charlotte Gonzales money for having Music City Raceway decals. Congratulations to Monte and all the racers who Survived the first of three Survivals!
