Ultimate 64 Shootout See's Hot Weather and Red Hot Racing
Randy Helton was honored Saturday of the 15th Annual Ultimate 64 Shootout in which he helped establish along with his long time friend Kelly Estes. With a double car ceremony coming up the track with Randy's old dragster and Kelly's Camaro along with a great speech by Kelly.
Over 300 entries hit the track each day at Kil-Kare Raceway in Xenia, OH this past weekend where temps hit the 90 degree mark each day. Racing action was equally as hot as the staff at Kil-Kare did an exceptional job with the long hot hours.
As stated on the flyer, if racer support exceeded 264 entries the Saturday $50k top payout would be increased to $64k. After 300 entries were exceeded Kelly and Chris made the generous call to also increase the $10k payouts to $12k.
On Friday it was "RED HOT" Chris Bear defeating Ryan Kimbler and taking another Big Check to the Ken Bear Motorsports race shop.
Saturday saw 330 entries make the first round call for the 15th Annual Ultimate 64. When it got down the the final it was Tennessee's Cody McDaniel trying to become the first repeat winner facing off with always tough Lester Adkins in his Black on Black Oakley powered dragster.
In the finals Lester turned it -007 red to hand the win to Cody who had won the event previously in Clay City, KY.
Saturday Night also saw a couple shootouts where Kenny Underwood won the 32 Car Dragster Shootout, Tyler Bohannon won the 64 car shootout and Steve Riggins won the 32 Car Door Car Shootout.
