South Wales, NY
Dale Eckert lives in South Wales, New York and is a Radio Technician & Tower Climber for two way radios. He's married to wife Rachel and the couple have two sons Andrew and Nolan. He has amassed quite an impressive racing career spanning 26 years in his 1969 Camaro that runs in the Mod ET class. The beautiful Camaro features a 355 cubic inch small block Chevy motor that makes 450 horsepower coupled to a turbo 350 transmission. The best the Camaro has run is 11.19 ET at 117 mph in the quarter mile.
What separates Eckert from the most of his competitors is his unbelievable 12 track championships between Lancaster Dragway in Lancaster, NY and Empire Dragway in Leicester, NY, plus his seven consecutive first place wins spanning 2009-2016, his multiple Summit Championships, multiple 1/8 mile shootout winner titles at Empire Dragway, and represented Lancaster and Empire at the IHRA Division Three Bracket Finals many times. This past season he went on to race at the IHRA World Finals at Memphis International Raceway for a shot at the World Championship Title where he just fell short. But kudos to this talented and great racer as he is always a force when he steps in that Camaro.
Sponsors on Eckert's ride include Saia Communications, First Gear Differentials and O&L Performance.
He thanks his family and friends for all their support and allowing hime to compete in a sport that he loves, his crew sons Andrew and Nolan, his brother-in-law and co-driver Clay Ricketson, Mark Ewart for all his advice and help through the years, Saia Communications, Bruce Heineman, Fast Eddie Semlitsch, Mike from O&L Equipment, Bob Belaska, Ron Wetland, Dan Lewis, Jason Vitez, Dan Knab for linning him up every round and the young competitors who push him to do better every week.
"My Dad really influenced my racing as he used to take me to the U.S. Nationals in Indy, Spring Nationals in Columbus, and Key Stone Nationals in Maple Grove,"? said Eckert. "I grew up watching Don Garlits, Don Prudhomme, Bob Glidden, & Bruce Allen and would spend hours as a kid drag racing my Matchbox cars in my sandbox. I loved watching the greats like Mike Janis, Jim Oddy and Dan Fletcher, and locals like Mark Lindsay and the Carlson's who aspired me to be a great bracket racer,"? he continued.
Congratulations on another great season and we wish you the best in your quest for that World Championship title - you deserve it!
