Took me forever to write this last night.. ughh
First off thanks to all the racers and family’s that participated this past weekend, especially all of the people who traveled from far away. THANK YOU! Hope you had a great time
We were a little light on entry’s but overall Joe told me he was happy with the outcome. I know that I had a great time and I did not hear one complaint about anything (but then again, I can’t hear S**T so that’s my take lol). No oil downs and just a little rain on Fri morning and late Saturday evening that did not affect much. Just for the record: I find it hard to believe that anyone within 4 hours drive would pass on this race. I know how much money I have invested in my little operation. If there is a race where I can possibly win $25k in 1 day’s worth of fun and possibly get back some of the $100k or more I have wrapped up in my racing, your dam right I will be there ! Heck… the average age of the 3 winners of the $25k’s was 60 years old! So don’t tell me – oh it’s the same old people who win, or I can’t compete with the young guns, I don’t race enough…. blah blah blah. I know some people just don’t have the money, but for 25k I will make it happen somehow (I did the million one year and collected $100 or more from all of my friends and told them I would triple it if I won) I raced the NHRA divisional the week before and the place was packed (over 450 cars). I lost in the semi’s and I won $200. Yep $200 lousy bucks. Shoot…I paid $170 just to enter one car! WTH ! My bro’s 13 year old boy entered a Junior dragster gamblers race last week in MD on a Thursday night. He lost in the semi’s. Guess how much money he got…. $300 ! More then I got for a SEMI at a NHRA divisional! I’m not saying I don’t enjoy NHRA racing, because I do like it, but what a kick in the….
Ok sorry for the rant LOL. Back to a real race, the 25k’s
Not 100 percent sure on the car count but I think it went like this: Thursday - 150 entries on the head, Friday - 166 entries 8rds, Saturday - 199 entries 9 rds, and Sunday 170 something entries 8 rds. The buybacks were good every day and that helped. Racing 1000’ was pretty cool and the packages were amazing. Think I heard of 3 perfect runs and 3 races where both lanes were 000 on the tree. Tom Stalba lost a race with a 4 thou package as Steve McCrory also had a 4 thou pack in the other lane (.0001 stripe) ! The nightlife was a riot. The bar was packed every night and so was the deck. Bertozzi had the craps table rolling at his trailer and I was told some crazy stories of a Atlantic City trip where somebody lost a wallet (or stolen or just loaded ??), a person who was left on a train passed out and rolled right past ATCO stop station and motored right into Philly just as normal working people were headed to work! And a passenger car that was left in AC because they did not know where they parked it! From what understand Jenny McCarthy hosted a pool party at Harrah’s Casino and somehow a large group of bracket racers were in the mix. Names will be with held to protect the innocent.

Thursday Jimmy Jones Memorial $10k
Win – Carl “Tattoo Boy” Drake Jr in his dragster – Notch one for the young guns. Tattoo also won the free helmet paint job from Imagine That Custom Paint
RU – Todd “I .030’d my way to the final” Nebel. Jimmy Jones’s buddy was on a mission to win for JJ, but turned it red in the final
Semis – A guy named Fox (sorry bud, don’t know you) and Mike “The” Barber in his Mustang
Friday TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND
Win – Tommy “Red Dog” “My hair is red” “TOP Dauber” “I don’t stop talking” “I had a 10 thou or better package almost every run” DAUBER ! Tom is a awesome guy and we were all pumped to see him win.. great job ! Notch a win for the old fellas
RU – Tattoo Boy Drake Jr in his sweet nova door car. Back to back finals for tattoo boy and in a door car to boot. Nice work Slim Jim
Semis – Pete “Gunslinger madman” Keller. Hell n Keller was on a mission but came up short in Semi’s. Good guy
And Scotty “I am going to be a Dad but I want to be a rap star on the side” Bodmer. Nice work little man
Saturday TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND
Win – Greg “I have a Pro Charger – I sell Racepak, and I have no HAIR” Kelly ! Great job skinny string bean! Notch another win for the old fellas

All I know for the weekend points Joe said Myself (in my VEGA by the way… Waa Hoo … LOL) and Brian Sorce tied for 1st. That was unofficial as he said he needed to scour over the results to make sure he was correct. I will post top ten when I know.
Also, the reason the Live timing was not working was because of the Lightning strike the track took on our last Summer Series race. Joe told me the estimated cost to repair and replace everything that was knocked out is around $54,000. 20 some security cameras, The mic’s, computers, PA system, back up computers, laptops and a bunch of other stuff I have never even heard of. That is why Live timing was out. So if you were complaining about no live timing to watch put yourself in Joes shoes
Keep in mind guys our next Race Tech Jegs Summer Series Race is Labor Day Weekend Aug 31st – Sept 2. $5K Friday night, $10k Saturday mid day, $2k Sat night and $5k Sunday. Hope to see everyone there
