During his first year of driving Super Pro, Mike was awarded Track Champion at Music City Raceway. This was repeated in 1989.

Mike earned Track Champion in 1991 at Beech Bend Raceway and also at Clarksville Raceway.

It was in 1995 that Mike made the switch from a door car to purchase two Ben Worthy Dragsters. This proved to he a good choice for Mike. As he went on to win the Top Dragster and Quick Rod World Championship in 1996. In 1999 Mike finished 3rd in the World in Top Dragster!

For the 2000 racing season he will once again be after the Top Dragster and Quick Rod World Championships, and also attend as many B&M Series Races and as many Big Money Bracket Races that his schedule will allow.

After just picking up his new Ben Worthy Race Cars 240" Top Dragster car he headed straight to Darlington for the IHRA Winter Nationals. It was there that Mike qualified a personal best of 6.82 at 197mph with only 3 and 1/2 seconds of Nitrous. Mike has told us the new motor from Huntsville Engine and Performance. (A 632 Chevy) runs better than any that he has ever had! He is also scheduled to pick up his four link Ben Worthy car for Quick Rod by the 1st of April. Then he will start the chase for the IHRA points.

None of this would he worth doing if it wasn't for my Crew Chief, best friend, and wife, Cindy Fuqua. Mike told us that the best news he has is that he is going to he a Daddy sometime in November. We wish you and Cindy all the best!
