It was in 1996 that Dan Lafferty made the switch from door car to dragsters to compete in bracket races as well as S/Comp. Marcum Motorsports & Kidd Performance asked Dan to drive various cars is S/Gas and S/Comp up until 1998.
The dragster of choice for Dan had been his new Undercover hard-tail racing in S/Comp and brackets until the fall of 1999. It was at that time that his new 4-link Undercover Dragster was delivered. This is the car that Dan still drives today. It is loaded with a 615 cid Kidd Performance Bullet, turning out 7.40s’ at a fast 180 plus mile per hour at altitude tracks.
Dan’s present project is another 1963 Corvette, with a 715 cid mill, Lenco still attached sitting in the frame rails of a Fuller Race Cars chassis. His plans will be to continue attending Big Buck bracket races and Top Comp in Division 6 with the Fuller Race Cars Vette and also running the 4-link Undercover Dragster.
Spring of 2001 started out on a roll for Dan, until a job related accident occurred in April. You see Dan is a Drilling and Blasting Contractor, and while working on a site he had the misfortune of a detonator exploding in his hand causing serious damage to his left hand. The recovery has been reported way above average. Surprising to all the Doctors’ involved as well as fellow racers. Dan took the win his first time back in the seat after his accident, winning the annual Boise Idaho Fox Hunt.

There have been many S/G, S/C, and T/C green lights and wins awarded to Dan Lafferty. If you have had the opportunity to race with him, then you already know what a great racer as well as great person he is.
