Seasoned professional drag racer Hot Rod Fuller is one guy that can truly say “been there, done that!”. Whether he’s driving a Super Gas car or a Top Fuel Dragster, on the west coast or east coast, Rod has seen it all.

Based out of Rogers, Arkansas, Rod comes from a family of racers. His father Bob is a talented Super Comp racer, brother Steve is an accomplished bracket racer and younger brother Tony has done very well in both Super Comp and Super Street. This is truly a family that races together and is very close to the sport they all love.

The 30 year old Fuller began racing about 10 years ago and has moved up the ladder and made a name for himself in a hurry. His list of accomplishments reads like a book:
1994 AHRA World Champion
1996 NHRA Division 5 Super Gas Champion
1997 Federal Mogal All Stars Champion
1997 Pontiac Excitement Nationals Winner
1998 U.S. National Super Gas Runner Up
1998 Parts America Nationals Super Gas Winner
1998 Finished #3 in the world in Super Gas
1999 Southern Nationals Champion in Super Comp
1999 Keystone Nationals Champion in Super Gas
1999 Fram National Champion in Super Comp
1999 Federal Mogal All Star Representative
1999 Finished #8 in the world in Super Gas
2000 B&M Big Bucks Bracket Race winner in Tucson, Arizona
2000 Pontiac Excitement Nationals Winner in Super Comp
2000 Southern Nationals Winner in Super Comp

Along the way, he has collected several divisional and bracket race wins to allow Rod to do this for a living.

He currently owns and races a 2001 Undercover 4-link dragster. This car is one of the nicest Super Comp dragsters in the country. The workmanship has already earned him “Best Engineered” awards at the 2001 B&M Big Bucks Race in Tucson, Arizona earlier this year and also at the CSK Nationals in Phoenix, Arizona. This car is equipped with only the best parts available. It has a custom fabricated rear end with Strange axles, third member, 4:10 gears and brakes. Long time sponsor B&M supplied the powerglide trans with 8" converter. Weld Magnum wheels help rotate the 33x16.5x15 Hoosier tires. Afco double adjustable shocks help keep all this on the ground and cushion the ride down track.
The car also has a full layout of AutoMeter Gauges, Simpson Safety equipment, Dedenbear Command Center with digital dial in board, B&M shifter, Grant Steering wheel, painless wiring system, CSI Cooling system, Borla stainless steel headers and mufflers. Everything on the car is either powder coated or chromed by Undercover Chassis own “in house” services.

Power for this show piece is provided by Madcap Racing Engines in Denver, CO. It’s a 548 Cubic Inch Big Block Chevy. It has a billet crank shaft, Manley rods, JE pistons, Comp Cams valve train, Moroso Oiling system with vacuum pump and an ATI balancer. Air flow is provided by Edelbrock Aluminum Cylinder heads with Madcaps own CNC porting program. The heads have Manley valves and springs with Comp roller rocker arms.
A ported Edelbrock intake manifold helps direct the fuel/air charge and is ignited by an MSD ignition system. This dyno proven combination is fueled by a fuel system from Aeromotive and a Gary Williams Dominator Carburetor pumping 76 Racing fuel. Keeping this engine running smooth are products provided by long term sponsor Valvoline Motor Oil. Performance best is a 7.70 at 175 mph.

Paint, graphics and lettering were all provided by Jeff Devey at Jeff's Graphics in Twin Falls, Idaho. Look for this car and his new 2001 Don Davis Corvette to received several more Best Engineered and Best Appearing awards as well as being in the winner circle.
