Featured Racer of the Month!
Racing for the past 15 years, he also does all the work on the car, including motor and transmission as well as the paint! His car of choice for the last 14 years has been a 1967 Chevy II. Just a few weeks ago Doyle Kay went on one of the most remarkable winning streaks taking the win three races in a row! Starting Sunday at Montgomery Motorsports Park and carrying it over to the next weekend with two consecutive victories on Friday and Saturday at Memphis Motorsports Park. This is an incredible week for any racer and it's what grabbed our attention to select him for Racer of the Month.
In 1996, Doyle Kay was the Sportsman Points Track Champion in Steele, Alabama taking Seven (7) 1st Place finishes out of 12 final rounds.
In 1997, he earned Sportsman Points Track Champion for the second year in a row at Steele, Alabama. He was also the IHRA Bracket Finals Runner-up with a total of 18 1st Place finishes out of 25 final rounds at three different tracks!
During 1998, Doyle finished 2nd in points in Steele, Alabama and had a total of 12 1st Place finishes out of 19 final rounds at four different tracks in the surrounding area.
The year 1999 proved to be another great one for Doyle Kay.
Doyle Kay was invited to Drag Racing USA Magazines’ All Star Footbrake Race in the year 2000.
What an outstanding person as well as a racer, having been married for 14 years with 2 beautiful children. Doyle has been employed with Ragland Telephone Company as an installer-repairman for the past 14 years.

The 2001 season has resulted in 2 1st Place finishes at Bama Dragway and a runner-up spot at Montgomery Motorsports Part at a regular Saturday night event. As well as the 3 race back to back wins starting at Montgomery and ending in Memphis. Way to go Doyle! We look forward to seeing you at the track! |
