Darrell Goza

Darrell Goza from Garland, Texas shares with us his 1999 Cameron Race Cars 235” 4-link Dragster

Last year Darrell Goza decided to put together a dragster that would help generate more attention toward their outstanding racing products line. With not as much time to go racing these days he wanted to build a dragster that looked good and ran fast. Well Darrell you did it! This is one awesome dragster!

Hans Feustel Racing Engines out of Ft. Worth, Texas built and assembled the 555 C.I. Pontiac headed Chevy. This engine is a single four application on gas and so far, has had best ET of 7.41 @182. The car was built and assembled by Nathan Martin at Cameron Race Cars in Ft. Worth, Texas. Tommy Phillips did the outstanding job of wiring the car.

The car features all of Goza Racing Products line of components, including their Scoop Mounting System, Alternator Mounting including Pulley, Co2 Accessories (Co2 Air Block, Quick Release Air Fittings and Linkage Stop), Smog Pump Mounting Brackets, Dial Board Mounting Bracket, Throttle Return Spring, the “Ultimate Throttle Pedal” chassis components (motor plates, deflector shield, torsion tube arms and shock brackets) and their Chill Factor line of cooling accessories (Filler Neck, Water Manifold, Water Pump, Re-Circulating Catch Can and Adapter Fittings).

The car made its first debut at the Pro Stock Superbowl this year at Houston Raceway Park. After 2 days around the clock working on the car the car was loaded into the trailer at 2:00AM the day of the race. Darrell and Nathan arrived at the track as the gates were opening. The car was unloaded and ran a 8.82 at 176mph (8.90)index on the very first pass!

Darrell has said that this is probable the smoothest, most consistent ride that he has ever driven. He would like to suggest to anyone who is considering the purchase of a dragster to go ahead and spend the extra money for the 4-link option.

He is extremely grateful to all those involved in helping to make it happen. Special thanks go to Rodney and Jacque Horton, Randy Youngblood, “Johnny One-Speed” Spar at B&M, Brian “Bye-Run” Folk, Greg & Jeff Brotherton at Brodix, Hans Feustell, Yelvi, Gary Stinnett, Robert AcAden at Magnaflow, Joe Francis at Harwood, Edmond Richardson, Sherman “The Sherminator” Adcock, Chris Padget, The Martin Family and my Fiancee’ Shannon as well as my daughter Shae.

Thank You Darrell, we look forward to seeing you and your Goza Racing Products Dragster at the next Big Race!
