The DRR Car of the Month is a 1955 Chevy
Owned and Driven by Curt Harshfield

 

Curt purchased the car at the age of 14 and with the help of his father had it ready to race when he was 18.

1998 Parts American National (Topeka) "Best Engineered"

2000 Won the National Open at Marion, South Dakota

2001 B & M "Best Engineered" at Nebraska Motorplex

2001 Advanced Auto Parts National (Topeka) "Super Street Champion"

Specs:
555 Cubic Inch Big Block Chevy
Licensed street legal car- wipers, lights and turn signals.
All steel body with bodywork done by Larry Harshfield (Dad) and painted by Jeff Rolling
Tube frame built by Curt
Tweed and aluminum interior with AutoMeter Gauges
B & M Shifter
Powerglide transmission built by Dave Ross using TCI components and a 9" Coan converter
Denny's nitrous ready Drive Shaft
Art Morrison strut suspension in the front
Homemade 4-link in the rear and narrowed 9" with Aldan coilovers
Strange spool and axles and an U.S. gear ring and pinion in a Strange center section
Willwood Disc Brakes
Weld wheels and Hoosier tires
Polished aluminum Bowtie valve covers
Eagle crank and rods with Weisco pistons and sealed power rings
Homebuilt headers using a Hooker kit
Dart aluminum heads and intake that was ported by Harry Heads
Comp Cams roller with Crane roller lifters and rocker arms
Stinnett modified Holley Dominator with an Aeromotive fuel system
Best Performance in Super Street- 10.90 @ 145 m.p.h. & 6.03 @ 115 m.p.h. (1/8 mile)
