MARYLAND INT'L RACEWAY REPAVES THE ENTIRE TRACK SURFACE

Maryland Int'l Raceway, home of the IHRA ExpressAutoParts.com Presidential Cup Nationals has just completed a quarter of a million dollar repaving project. The paving begins at the end of the new concrete pads installed this past winter and extends all of the way to the end of the shutdown area. Also, an additional reserved pit parking section was added and a portion of the pit entrance road was paved and widened.

"The whole project turned out great," commented track owner Royce Miller, "The track and shutdown area are extremely smooth. Traction on the very first weekend was exceptional and will only get better as some more rubber gets down." Mickey Williams, Tim Moore and the entire staff from Beltway paving in Waldorf, Maryland, deserve special recognition for their outstanding workmanship. They all took tremendous pride in this undertaking and made sure every measure was taken to ensure the best racing surface possible. The response from all the racers that have made a pass on the new surface has been a resounding "excellent job!"

Maryland Int'l Raceway has future plans of relocating the staging lanes, constructing a new and modern tower, elevating all of the grandstands, and much more. All of these major improvements will occur as time and dollars permit. Keep in touch with the MIR Website at www.mirdrag.com for details.
