Motor Sports Fans Enjoy a Fantastic Day at Jerry’s Nugget 4th Annual Racer’s Appreciation Car Show
02/03/04 Las Vegas, NV  erry’s Nugget Casino geared up to full throttle for their 4th Annual Racer’s Appreciation Car Show which took place this past Sunday, January 25th in the casino parking lot. The event was free to participants and spectators alike. The show was open to all vehicles that regularly compete at any of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway venues (The Bullring, The Strip, etc.) and to any motor sport enthusiast that just loves to show off their wheels.Clear blue skies and a brisk winter chill made for a fantastic day. Hundreds of spectators enjoyed a lot of great vehicles, motor sports tall tales and good friends. The show was a huge success with over 250 entrants, featuring classics, hot rods, trucks, motorcycles, street rods, drag bikes, late models and more. The festivities were taken up a notch with the Big Kahuna from KKLZ Radio. During a live radio remote many pairs of tickets to the NHRA Weekend Blast Off at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway were given out. Other sponsors donated great prize packages, like Chicks Wheel and Brake Service, Vegas Vinyl and Access Fasteners – just to name a few. Jerry’s Nugget Casino awarded dozens of gifts packs full of logo’d apparel, dinners to their famous Canal Street Café, plus shopping certificates. Vendor booths, like Reality Racing, Cool Car Stuff, Auto Trader, Nevada Safes and License Plates wanted stepped up and donated a portion of their days sales to a very worthwhile cause the Children’s Speedway Charities. This non-profit organization raises and distributes funds to charities and foundations providing medical, emotional and social services to children in need. All vehicles competed for trophies and were awarded as follows; Best Paint Racer’s Choice 1st place – Justin Lamb 2nd place – Alfred Sweeting 3rd place – Chris Naffizger Best of Show Racer’s Choice 1st place – Troy Cafaro 2nd place – Paul Bledseo 3rd place – Bob Coulter Racer’s Best Overall 1st place – Troy Cafaro 2nd place – Kalani Kepaa 3rd place – Chris Naffizger Best Paint All Classes 1st place – Rocky Carron 2nd place – Steve ONeil 3rd place – Gary Kirby Best of Show All Classes 1st place – Rocky Carron 2nd place – Billy Hollimon 3rd place – DJ Johnson People’s Choice All Classes 1st place – Ed Morgan 2nd place – Rocky Carron 3rd place – Art Kam Trophies for the best roaring engines were awarded in two categories, for muffled vehicles and open exhaust. In addition to the trophy awards, Chris Blair, General Manager for the Strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway presented cash awards to the winners of the Jerry’s Nugget Championship Drag Racing Series.
