Steve Cole Named DRAG REVIEW Editor

HRA President Bill Bader announced Steve Cole has been named Editor of Drag Review magazine, IHRA's in-house publication. Cole joins IHRA from Barry Grant, Inc., where he was Director of Communications.

"I feel extremely fortunate to become part of the excellent team here at IHRA and Drag Review," said Cole. "I have high standards for the publication and expect the Drag Review team to take it to the next level and beyond."

"Steve has a strong background in the motorsports publication world," said IHRA Vice President of Marketing Aaron Polburn. "He brings to Drag Review magazine the attitude and direction to continually grow the company by providing insightful coverage of everything IHRA.

"He is well-respected in the industry, and we are proud to have him aboard."

A native of upstate New York, Cole received a bachelor&Mac226;s degree in Animal Science from Cornell University. He spent nearly ten years in partnership in the family&Mac226;s dairy farm business. During that period, he covered road racing at Watkins Glen International from 1968-76 &Mac246; including the United States Grand Prix, the SCCA&Mac226;s Can-Am, TransAm and Formula 5000 events for the Olean (N.Y.) Times Herald. In 1977, he moved to Ohio to join the National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA) as editor of their magazine The Puller, plus other NTPA publications. In 1982, Cole became Marketing Communications Director for Cleveland, Ohio-based Mr. Gasket Company, followed by eight years working for Babcox Publications in Akron, Ohio, as editor of Specialty & Custom Dealer magazine. From 1991 to 1999, he operated his own marketing communications firm, specializing in performance and Motorsports aftermarket firms. In 1999 he began working at Holley as Communications Director, and eventually to Barry Grant, Inc.

Cole will be based at IHRA world headquarters in Norwalk, Ohio.
