The Computech Raider ET Challenge

he Computech Raider E.T. Challenge is a new joint venture between Maryland International Raceway (MIR) and Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP), two of the east coast's premier tracks. This exciting series will be an eight-race series (two Sat-Sun weekends at each track run on the 1/8 mile) with a fresh, new innovative twist.
The unique and innovative twist to this series will be a points program that rewards the overall champion in each of the three categories contested Top, Mod, and Junior Dragster with major sponsorships for their bracket car for the next season. These sponsorships will include tires, fuel, oil, converters, gear sets, weather stations and the list goes on and on. The sponsor list is still growing and is expected to exceed $25,000 in non-contingent sponsor awards. The current list will be on both track's websites. The three class champions will also receive from the tracks a free car and driver entry to this series for the following year, a reserved parking spot at this series and a corporate suite for a weekend. MIR and VMP have also committed an additional $5,000 to the points fund to pay back under the champions.
Each race will pay Top E.T. (electronics) $5,000 to win, Mod E.T. (footbrake) $2,000 to win and Junior Dragster $1,000 to win (paid in a U.S. Savings Bond). There will be a very attractive two-day entry fee offered at each race and a joint aggressive promotion of the series by both tracks. This series is open to all bracket racers, no registration required.
